BASS:
San Francisco’s 18-and-up event Elev8, Nocturnal Beats in Sac embrace
Generation Next
The younger set of Drum & Bass-heads have a couple places to enjoy
bass on Thursday nights, thanks to two weekly events that are turning
on a new generation of dance music fans to the DJ arts.
In San Francisco, Rhythm Method residents Bicolas, B-Dub, Diatrybe and The Doctor will spin Drum &
Bass at weekly event Elev8 this Thursday, December 15 at San Francisco
club The El Rincon. MC Manny Vibes
will handle mic duties at this weekly event, one of the few 18-and-up
regular events in The City.
Party runs from 10 pm to 2 am and is free before 11 pm, $3 cover
thereafter. The El Rincon is located at 2700 16th Street at Harrison.
On the same night in Sacramento, Drum & Bass and Trance DJs will
perform at weekly event Nocturnal Beats. D&B talent on tap includes
Soul Survivor, Damien and Dick Gail while the Trance room
will have Koroma, Da Gru and Bob-O. A third room has Kenny Young, Robbie G, Lurid, Entrigue with Digital E holding down the mic.
This 18-and-up event starts at 9pm with a $6 cover. The Stoney Inn is
located at 1320 Del Paso Boulevard.
Dance events that are open to fans under 21 years old are increasingly
rare nowadays. Props to events like Eleva8 and Nocturnal Beats, which
are playing an important role in Electronic music’s future growth.
