BASS: House DJ Morgan Page album ‘Cease And Desist’ heavy on bootleg remixes

House DJ Morgan Page -- an emerging Los Angeles producer/remixer whose vinyl tracks John Digweed and Mark Farina are currently working into their club sets -- has released a white label album Cease And Desist, Rephlektor incorporated announced.

In an unusual twist that could have pop stars calling their lawyers, Page’s album features 100% unauthorized house music versions of David Bowie, Coldplay and Norah Jones tracks. Each mix takes the original in a new direction: melting genres and blurring the lines between mainstream and underground appeal.

Page, who remixed the tracks at his studio in Los Angeles, at least won’t have to worry about Norah Jones objecting. Rephlektor says she "loved the mix" he did with an acapella of her voice and actually passed it around Atlantic Records’ offices. Morgan has continued creating more of these unauthorized mixes adding his own style by layering live bass and guitar to add a warmer sound to the mixes.

Page previously released dozens of EPs out through labels like Bedrock, SAW, and Nordic Trax featuring collaborations with Colette, Gregory Shiff, and Astrid Suryanto, among others.
