Sasha launches new lable emFire, plans North American tour
Longtime Trance and
Downtempo DJ and producer Sasha
announced the launch of his brand new label, Titled emFire, an imprint
that will be an exclusive outlet for his own material, which has been
co-produced with his renowned collective that includes Charlie May, Duncan Forbes and Barry Jamieson
(aka COMA), a pseudonym that also provides the title for the first
release. Sasha also announced a North American tour starting September
27 that will include stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York
City.
emFire will focus
on digital and vinyl and feature a strong, continuous graphic
foundation; running from release to release, a colour-coded, graded
spectrum will marry to a numeric sequence. Insect, best known for their
recent work with Banksy, are handling the art direction.
Three forthcoming Sasha tracks will be released as a limited, one-sided
'etched' 12-inch as well as across digital retail outlets such as
Beatport, DJDownload and iTunes on a monthly basis. In November, the
aforementioned track "Coma" will kick off the series of releases. Stay
tuned to Sasha’s website
for further information.
Sasha also announced a North American tour starting in Austin, Texas,
on 27 September and continuing throughout the United States and Canada.
Key dates include the Lovefest afterparty at San Francisco’s Bill
Graham Center on Sept. 29; Tribe in Montreal on Oct. 4; the Vanguard in
Los Angeles on Oct. 6; and New York City’s Webster Hall on Oct. 12.
The tour marks
this year's second string of North American shows for Sasha, who won a Grammy
in 2005 for remixing on his "Involver" album, and he was part of the
renowned Sasha and Digweed duo
that helped define Trance music for a generation.
