San Francisco’s LoveFest slated for Sept. 23
Love Parade SF is America’s biggest Electronic music event no more. San
Francisco’s affiliation with the annual parade that originated in
Germany is toast, but the same crew that launched Love Parade SF has
renamed themselves San Francisco
LoveFest and scheduled their party for Saturday, September 23.
As with
last year’s Love Parade SF
-- which included some 30 floats that represented all genres of
Electronic music and 75,000 revelers but seemed to raise the ire
of some European DJs who objected to paying any fees -- this year’s
parade route starts at 2nd Street and rolls down Market Street through
the heart of San Francisco to Civic Center Plaza.
SF LoveFest organizers announced that float applications for DJs and
crews who want to participate in 2006 SF LoveFest are now available for
download at their website.
The non-profit group is also looking for volunteers to help in a
variety of positions including promotions and marketing, hospitality,
community partner recruiter and site coordinators. To inquire about
volunteer opportunities e-mail them at sflove
(at) app.topica (dot) com and they’ll be in touch.
In addition to
the parade, San Francisco LoveFest will again have a series of tie-in
events including the official afterparty and various all-night parties
from many of the crews involved. To announce your crew's afterparty
e-mail us at editor (at) wordnbass
