S’Indie Awards, urban literature at forefront of Self-Published Authors
Symposium in NYC
Urban literature is expected to have a strong presence at the
Self-Published Authors Symposium in New York City on Mar. 12, 2006,
where a series of marketing workshops and the 2005 S’Indie Awards
winner will be announced at the Schomberg Center for Research in Black
Culture.
Event organizers said that panelists include Manie Barron, a former William
Morris agent and co-founder of literary agency Menza-Barron, and Vickie Stringer, author/owner of
Triple Crown Publications who has often been dubbed the Queen of Urban
Fiction.

bio. and genre category. The award targets African-American independent
publishers, self-publishers and authors. Eight category winners will be
chosen based on literary excellence, quality, production and
originality.
Registration at Self-Published Authors Symposium costs $150.00 and
includes entry to the S’Indie Awards. Further information is at http://www.aspicomm.com/Events.html
