Fourth Annual San Francisco Writers Conference slated for Feb. 16-18
The 2007 San Francisco Writer’s Conference takes place from February 16
to 18 at the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Hotel in the Nob Hill
District, organizers announced. This year’s conference, the fourth
annual, is themed ‘Building Bridges to Better Tomorrows’ and includes
forty "how to" sessions, panels, and workshops taught by well-known
authors.
Attendees have
access to ‘Speed Dating for Agents’ and ‘Speed Dating for Editors,’
unique one-on-one opportunities for authors to pitch their work
directly to these publishing professionals. Celebrity book signings and
social gatherings with other writers add to the excitement of the
event, conference organizers said.
The 2007 Conference will feature more than 100 agents, authors and
editors. Among the agents in attendance -- many of whom are
participating the pitching sessions -- are Nathan Bransford, Curtis Brown Ltd.,
Kimberly Cameron,
Reece-Halsey North, Laura Rennert,
Andrea Brown Literary Agency, Danielle
Svetcov, Levine Greenberg Literary Agency and Ted Weinstein, Ted Weinstein
Literary Management.
Representing the publishing front are Nichole
Argyres, Editor at St. Martin's Press, Lyron Bennett, Editor at
Sourcebooks, George Gibson,
Publisher at Walker Books/Bloomsbury, Christine
Pride, Editor at Random House, as well as local Editor Traci Todd of Chronicle Books, among
others.
