BASS:
Drum 'N' Bass artist Calibre releases first mix album, 'Fabriclive 68'
-- with audio
Longtime Drum 'N' Bass DJ and producer Calibre
has mixed "Fabriclive 68" his first ever commercially available mix CD
that's available in stores worldwide, his manager
with ESP Agency announced.
"This is the
first time I’ve ever done a mix CD, so I was a little bit worried about
how it would be received because sometimes when you’ve been doing
something for so long, it’s hard to work out what people want from you
because they all have different periods of work that they identify
with," Calibre said.
The CD was celebrated with a launch party at Fabric on March 15 that
featured a star studded lineup of DNB connoisseurs including dBridge,
Fabio, Marcus Intalex, Random Movement, DRS & SP:MC.
"Some of the tunes that are on there, I’ve been playing at Fabric over
the years to varying degrees of effect," said Calbre of the tracklist
he chose for the album. "They’re just for me; they’re tunes that I’ve
been playing for a long time some of them, so the mix is a
representation of my work over the last ten years really."
This year is expected to be a busy one for Calibre, who revealed plans
for three albums for release later in 2013.
Calibre also provided an exclusive radio mix to promote the release of
Fabriclive 68. Click here
