DJ Krush to release his first-ever DVD set, 3-disc ‘History of DJ Krush’
Edited Press Release
On September 18, acclaimed Japanese producer/turntablist DJ Krush
will offer up his first ever DVD entitled "History Of DJ Krush." The
collection encompasses a whopping three DVDs and features every DJ
Krush music video to date along with two documentaries.
Those who are familiar with DJ Krush’s past work know that
each release is created with a sense of high artistic value. Beyond the
three discs in History Of DJ Krush you will find a package complete
with gold foiled packaging and beautiful photographs that document this
legendary artist’s career. It’s really a site to behold.
History Of DJ Krush traces DJ Krush’s path from the recording of his
1995 album "Meiso" through to his 2006 world tour. Throughout the DVDs,
you’ll see never-before-seen footage of DJ Krush in many different
situations that helped to define his career. One of the standout
moments is a DJ set performed on a specially-constructed stage on the
rooftop of a building in Tokyo; shot in November 2006 exclusively for
this DVD, amid his world tour. This is the most intimate look into DJ
Krush’s career that’s ever been previously available.
The Japanese saying "SUIMOU TSUNENIMASU" is translated to mean "There’s
no end to training." The saying derives from a legendary sword called
Suimou-ken and legend has it that the sword cut everything that passed
its way. Yet, even this finest sword would become blunt if it wasn’t
constantly polished. There’s no end to training. You must keep on
disciplining yourself. Once you’ve mastered something, you have to work
even harder, this time to teach, to keep your craft polished, to keep
your feet on the ground, and to break out of habit. DJ Krush’s message
for this DVD set is "KEEP GOING" which resonates with this saying.
DJ Krush will celebrate the release of History Of DJ Krush with a full
North American tour this October, including San Francisco, Hollywood
and New York City, among others.
