BASS:
Fifth annual Memories Campout has DNB, Trance, Breaks
In what’s become a traditional kickoff of the summer camping season for
many Bay Area electronic music fans, the Memories Campout is holding
their five-year anniversary event from June 27 to 29 Northeast of San
Francisco where a bevy of DJs will play House, Breaks, Techno, Drum ’N’
Bass and Trance.
Fans and artists
from across Northern California, Nevada and beyond will establish "our
own private town" at a resort 3.5 hours Northeast of San Francisco in
the Sierra foothills. Amenities include RV hookups, bathrooms, showers,
a 21-and-over full bar, a restaurant, three dance floors, a river for
swimming, and plenty of shaded camping spots, organizers said.
Artists scheduled to play include Toronto’s Jelo, plus many DJs from the Western
USA like DJ Kos, Forest Green, DJ
Dragn’fly, DJ Travis T, GAMMA, Evolve with MC Entitee, Dirt, several Classic
Grooves residents, and more than 30 others.
Surrounded by majestic mountains, Memories campers will drive by many
waterfalls and through rock mountain tunnels, view luscious valleys of
green and old bridges on their journey into the Sierra foothills. The
river that runs adjacent to the town is great for rafting and swimming.
The event location has plenty of camping under the trees. There is an
Old Style Saloon there for drinks, snacks and water.
Organizers said in their announcement that no "renegade soundsystems"
will be tolerated and a "zero tolerance drug policy" would be in
effect. There will be energy drinks and glow products sold, but campers
are encouraged to bring plenty of liquids (no glass bottles) and food
since after all, this is a camping event.
Tickets are $35 per person at the door, or you can find more
information including the campout’s location, directions, and pre-sale
tickets at the Classic Grooves
Myspace. This event is open to all ages.
