BASS: Paul van Dyk returns to Central Park; album ‘In Between’ marks 5th Anniversary

Paul van DykIn what has become one of New York City's most highly anticipated annual summer concert events, Paul van Dyk returns to the famed Central Park on August 17th & 18th. This marks a record 5th consecutive year that Paul van Dyk has teamed up with Made Event for the production of this truly unique outdoor concert.

In celebration of the anniversary, innovators Paul van Dyk and Made Event will collaborate to offer a special limited edition version of his upcoming artist album "In Between" (out August 14th on Mute Records). Fans who attend the Central Park concerts will have a unique opportunity to purchase combination special ticket packages on the Made Event website. The CD will be available for pickup only at Central Park.

Paul van Dyk's Central Park concerts have become legendary! Last year, over 10,000 loyal fans from around the world descended upon New York City with the sole purpose of experiencing their favorite artist in this surreal environment.

The brainchild of Made Event, NYC's foremost electronic music promotion company, Paul van Dyk in Central Park has grown exponentially. From its inception in 2003 what began as a one time, late afternoon event has transformed into a two-day concert extravaganza. Paul van Dyk's incomparable DJ style ensures that no two concerts are ever the same due in part to his one-of-a-kind rig that has taken the art of DJing to an entirely new level.

Tickets for Paul van Dyk in Central Park are available for $40 dollars per ticket for the Friday, August 17th concert and $45 dollars per ticket for the Saturday, August 18th concert. In addition, a special Double-Pak for the discounted price of $80 dollars for both shows are available at Ticketweb.com. There is limited quantity of discounted advance tickets and prices will be going up soon!

ABOUT PAUL VAN DYK

Paul van Dyk received a Grammy nomination in 2005 for Best Dance/Electronic Album for his original album "Reflections" - this marked the first time NARAS recognized this category. His original productions from "Reflections" have been synced into major motion pictures such as Into the Blue, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, television's Entertainment Tonight and MTV's Cribs international ad campaigns for Motorola, HBO, Land Rover, and most recently for JEEP this spring. With over 3 million albums sold worldwide, van Dyk travels around the world over 16 times each year to sold out performances internationally.

Aside from his musical activity, Paul van Dyk has always dedicated a significant part of his life to politics and social justice: from his youth, when he fled over the Berlin Wall to the West, to his children's charity in India's Mumbai, and his partnership scheme with the German Red Cross to help poor children in Berlin. In 2004, van Dyk was the only electronic artist involved in a nationwide tour with the Rock The Vote campaign, where he joined the likes of Bono, P Diddy, the Black Eyed Peas and George Clinton in campaigning for America's youth to sign up to vote in the presidential election. He most recently received Berlin's Medal of Honor (Landesverdienstorden) in recognition of his work with Ruckenwind.
