The 2006 Backspace Writers Conference July 21-22 in NYC
Edited Press Release
Literary agent Richard Curtis
will be keynote speaker at the 2006 Backspace Writers Conference, which
takes place July 21-22 at New York City’s Algonquin Hotel, conference
organizers announced. The event brings together 16 top literary agents,
eight editors, eight best-selling authors and many other publishing
professionals for a two-day, two-track event in the heart of the
publishing world.
Other speakers on the program include authors Lee Child, Barry Eisler, Gayle Lynds, Scott
Westerfeld, Caprice Crane, J.A. Konrath and Ron McLarty; agents Paul Cirone, Miriam Goderich, Jenny Bent,
Noah Lukeman, Jeff Kleinman, Rolph Blythe, and Kristin Nelson; C. Michael Curtis, senior editor of The Atlantic Monthly and Charis Conn, fiction editor at Harper's Magazine, as well as
editors from Random House, Crown, Shaye Areheart and Penguin.
Panels and workshops round out the program. Book industry participants
who like schmoozing -- for us, the most entertaining part of industry
conferences is the face-to-face meetings -- can take advantage of the
hour-long mixers that happen each afternoon.
For more
information, check out the conference
website.
