WORD:
Folio Literary Management scores another top agent in Celeste Fine
Literary agent Celeste Bernadette Fine
told WORD’N’BASS.com that she has joined Folio Literary Management, one
of New York City’s hottest new agencies. Fine, who was most recently at
Vigliano Associates where she brokered foreign rights deals for rockers
like Courtney Love
and Scott Weiland,
says she is continuing to focus on mostly nonfiction.
Fine’s client list includes authors of everything from health to pop
culture books, especially authors with platform-driven projects.
However, novelists have an outside chance with Fine, who has
represented Sunday Times Fiction Award winner Rayda Jacobs and the foreign rights
for
Pulitzer Prize winning author Marilynne
Robinson, among others.
"I do a little fiction -- and I have to love it -- the characters, the
concept, the writing," said Fine. "I mostly respond to really original
characters or really timely concepts."
Authors who are interested in pitching Fine on their projects should
send a query letter via e-mail to her at cfine (at) folio lit (dot) com.
Folio Literary Management was launched
in February 2006 by longtime dealmakers Scott Hoffman, Jeff Kleinman and Paige Wheeler. The firm, which now
has six agents on staff, has already brokered nearly 100 deals through
November 17. It has offices in NYC and Washington,
D.C.
