Marcus Sakey kicks off ‘The Blade Itself’ book tour Friday
Despite blizzard conditions in the US Midwest, debut author Marcus Sakey announced that he is
hitting the road to begin the first of several bookstore signings in
support of his novel The Blade Itself,
which was recently published by St. Martin’s imprint Minotaur.
Beginning today (Friday, February 16), Sakey will hit cities from
Indiana to Ohio and Illinois.
"As proof that
authors are fairly dense people, I’ll be hitting the road with my
friend Sean Chercover (Big City, Bad Blood) for a ten-day
tour through the Midwest -- in the middle of February and the biggest
snowstorm of the year," Sakey said in the announcement.
Sakey will make appearances at the following bookstores:
Kokomo, IN, Don's Books, February 16, 4:00 - 8:00 pm
Carmel, IN, The Mystery Company, February 17, 2:00 pm
Cincinnati, OH, Joseph-Beth Booksellers, February 19, 7:00 pm
Lexington, KY, Joseph-Beth Booksellers, February 20, 7:00 pm
Pittsburgh, PA, Joseph-Beth Booksellers, February 21, 7:00 pm
Cleveland, OH, Joseph-Beth Booksellers, February 22, 7:00 pm
Niles, IL, Books-A-Million, February 24, 3:00 - 5:00 pm
Skokie, IL, Barnes & Noble, February 26, 7:30 pm
Meanwhile, the Independent Mystery Bookstore Association reported that
Sakey’s The Blade Itself, about a former small time hood from Chicago
trying to live down a sketchy past, topped its hardcover
bestsellers list for January 2007.
