WORD:
Rachel Vater latest agent to join Folio Literary Management
Literary agent Rachel Vater
has
joined Folio Literary Management, bringing the number of agents at one
of New York City’s fastest-growing agencies to seven and raising the
firm’s profile in the hot young adult (YA) market. Authors will be
interested to hear Rachel is taking on new clients.
"The agency is
like a dream team of the brightest, most innovative agents I know. I’m
so honored to work with each agent there," Rachel told WORD’N’BASS.com,
adding that she’s currently looking for authors of YA, children’s books
and smart women’s fiction.
"I love middle grade and young adult novels, and I’m especially
interested in urban fantasy. But I’m open to a lot of different genres
in fiction and I’m also looking for witty women’s nonfiction."
Rachel joined Folio Literary Management after stints at Donald Mass,
where she started as an assistant agent in 2003, and most recently at
Lowenstein-Yost, where she was a literary agent known for selling up a
storm.
Since launching
in January 2006, Folio Literary Management has grown from the original
three founders - Scott Hoffman, Jeff
Kleinman and Paige Wheeler
- to include seven literary agents and a support staff. As previously
reported, Celeste Fine joined
the firm last year via Trident Media Group.
Further information, including submission guidelines and recent sales
data, is available at Folio’s website.
